How We Handle Your Child's Photos
We understand you are entrusting us with something precious. Here is exactly what happens with photos you upload:
- Storage: Your photos are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 in the Canada (Central) region (ca-central-1).
- AI processing: Your photos are sent to OpenAI's API to generate personalized illustrations for your book. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. We have reviewed OpenAI's data processing terms and their API data usage policies.
- Fulfillment: The final book PDF (which contains AI-generated illustrations based on your photos) is sent to Lulu Press, Inc. for printing and shipping. Lulu also receives your name, shipping address, and phone number. See "Third-Party Service Providers" below for details.
- Never sold: Your photos are never sold or shared for advertising.
- Never used for training: Your photos are never used to train AI models. OpenAI's API terms confirm that API inputs are not used for model training.

We retain your data as follows:
- Photos and book content: Retained in your account so you can reorder or create new books. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@littlelifechapters.com.
- Account information: Retained until you request account deletion.

- Payment data: Stored and managed by Stripe. We do not retain full payment card details.
When you request deletion of your photos or account, we will remove your data from our active systems. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period before being permanently purged.
